Sponsorship and Exhibition
The 22nd Australian and New Zealand Prevocational Medical Education Forum is staged by a state postgraduate medical education council on behalf of the national body, the confederation of postgraduate medical education councils (CPMEC). This annual Forum brings together clinicians and educators to facilitate sharing of research, educational activities and discussion of important current issues in prevocational medical education. A core component of this Forum is the involvement of junior doctors in the program.
There is enormous opportunity and much that can be achieved because this Forum is to be hosted by Queensland in 2017. Through the revitalised intern accreditation sector, the emergence of a vibrant and enthusiastic junior doctor network (the JMO forum), the introduction of a valuable workforce forum, and the dedication of the team of Directors of Clinical Training (DCT) and Medical Education Officers (MEO) in Queensland, there is opportunity and enthusiasm for a strong collaborative meeting of medical education personnel from all sectors in Queensland. Personnel will be able to share medical education practices with each other, share and learn from their interstate colleagues, and will be able to showcase the advancements in medical education and in accreditation to colleagues across Australia and New Zealand. This Forum will have strong focus on research in medical education.
In addition, the national forum is the venue at which the national junior doctor of the year and the national clinical educator of the year are announced and applauded.
The Prevocational Medical Education Forum is the annual gathering of executive personnel, medical clinical supervisors, medical educators, junior doctors from the great variety of sites that train junior doctors across Australia and New Zealand. Colleagues come together to learn about and share in developments and innovation in medical education and topics relevant to the training of junior doctors. Medical students and key university lecturers also attend this Forum. Medical specialist colleges are also involved in the Forum.
